The Archiginnasio Palace is open from 9 am to 7 pm from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday, closed on Sunday. The Anatomical Theater can be visited from 10 am to 6 pm with an entrance ticket of 3 euros. The ticket allows access to the Stabat Mater Room when not occupied by Library activities.The part dedicated to the Library is not accessible for tourist visits.
Opening hours from 5 to 31 August: 10am-6pm, Monday to Saturday. Closed on Sunday. On August 15th open from 10 am to 4 pm.

The anatomical theatre
The hall, called “theatre” because of its amphitheatre-like shape, was designed in 1637 for the anatomical lessons and it was built by the Bolognese architect Antonio Paolucci, called “il Levanti", a pupil of the Carracci.

The coats of arms
The rich decoration of the Archiginnasio constitutes the largest existing heraldic wall complex and it has excited the admiration of visitors and scholars of all times. The coats of arms had to strengthen the idea of authority and power of the institution.
