New opening hours of the Manuscripts Room
From April 1, new opening hours of the Manuscripts and Rare Room:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9-13:30, Tuesday and Thursday 9-17.
The reference service will be available throughout the opening hours of the Room, with the possibility of picking up material from the warehouses even in the afternoon.

La Biblioteca sarà chiusa i giorni 20, 21, 25 Aprile e 1 Maggio. Regolarmente aperta il 26 aprile.Il Palazzo sarà chiuso domenica 20 aprile. Nei giorni festivi 21, 25 Aprile e 1 Maggio sarà visitabile dalle ore 10 alle 14.
The palace

The Archiginnasio Palace is open from 9 am to 7 pm from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday, closed on Sunday. The Anatomical Theater can be visited from 10 am to 6 pm with an entrance ticket of 3 euros. The ticket allows access to the Stabat Mater Room when not occupied by Library activities.The part dedicated to the Library is not accessible for tourist visits.

The anatomical theatre
The hall, called “theatre” because of its amphitheatre-like shape, was designed in 1637 for the anatomical lessons and it was built by the Bolognese architect Antonio Paolucci, called “il Levanti", a pupil of the Carracci.

The rich decoration of the Archiginnasio constitutes the largest existing heraldic wall complex and it has excited the admiration of visitors and scholars of all times. The coats of arms had to strengthen the idea of authority and power of the institution.

Il sito Bologna bombardata 1943-1945 si arricchisce ogni anno di nuovi documenti e immagini, che approfondiscono il ricordo del bombardamento dell'Archiginnasio avvenuto il 29 gennaio 1944. Un'importante novità di quest'anno è l'inserimento di un nuovo argomento nella sezione Documenti, che analizza la propaganda degli Alleati riguardo ai bombardamenti su Bologna.
